The XL Family A 7872-2 debuts at the October NEC Show on the Dethleffs stand
The Dethleffs XL Family A 7872-2 made its debut at the October NEC Show this week, an impressive option with a length of 8.60m.
The best six berth motorhomes offer plenty of space for all, allowing everyone to enjoy a comfortable touring experience, and that looks to be something that the A 7872-2 will provide.
The sleeping spaces include two berths above the cab, coming to 210 x 165cm, two in the lounge, which come to 195 x 130cm, and a transverse bed at the rear which comes to 211 x 152cm. A well-equipped kitchen includes a 137-litre refrigerator with a 15-litre freezer, an oven and plenty of work surface for rustling up an on-tour feast.
Storage should not be an issue either in a ‘van which is designed for touring throughout the year, thanks to a heated rear garage with a 250kg surface load, compartments in the 40cm deep double floor, two wardrobes, and additional storage beneath the longitudinal bench seat, which can be reached both internally and externally.

However, you’ll need to make sure you have the right licence, as it has an MTPLM of 5400kg. It has a height of 3.27m and prices start from £115,690.
Another model making its show debut was the Globetrail 640 HR, a campervan which has the option of sleeping up to seven. It features a drop-down bed at the rear which comes with an adjustable height, another optional double bed at the rear, and an optional pop top roof for a further two berths. A final berth can be made in the lounge at the front.

Features include an 84-litre compressor fridge and there’s space in the kitchen to store a 2.8kg gas cylinder.
The last of the three models is the Globebus Camp T 1. The ‘van comes with a transverse double bed which comes to 199 x 140cm, and, usefully, a washroom that can be transformed into a shower cubicle thanks to a swivel wall.
The low-profile option has a length of 5.99m and a width of 2.20m. Its OTR price is £70,290, with the model on the stand priced at £74,980.
Other brands to be showcasing new models included Auto-Trail, which had its new addition to the Excel range on its stand, as well as a ‘van with its optional pop-top roof. Elnagh Baron also made its return to the NEC for the first time since 2009, with four motorhomes from the manufacturer on the Marquis Leisure stand.
