Road Trip

The Moon Inn, Mordiford

Our first stop for the night on our road trip to Cornwall led us to The Moon Inn.  This pub is located in Mordiford, which is a village in Herefordshire, on the B4224 Hereford to Mitcheldean road 4 miles east south east of the city of Hereford.

About the Site

This isn’t actually a site but a pub stop over. We pulled into the car park, and was surprised to see a small campsite behind the pub. I went inside the pub and spoke to the manager and I asked if she would mind us staying overnight in their car park? She said yes and was very welcoming. After sorting ourselves out in the motorhomes we headed back into the pub and sat down for the evening chatting and having a few drinks.

Pitches

There aren’t any pitches, after all it’s a car park so we parked to the rear out of the way and made ourselves comfortable.

Facilities

There aren’t any facilities, other than the toilet if you’re using the bar. but like most motor-homers we didn’t need any.

Apparently there is however a campsite that is open from March through to November that is situated at the rear of the Beer Garden. This can provide electricity with a fully functioning on site toilet block although you would have to book in advance although we didn’t use this.

Price

The Beauty of a pub stopover is that they’re usually free! However, as always, we spend money in the pub either on drinks or a meal or both!

Motorhome Monkey thoughts

We went into the pub not long after we arrived and had drinks. The manager was so friendly and welcoming. We chatted with her over drinks for an hour our two.

The staff and the locals were really friendly and welcoming and it was a great start and another memory to add to our road trip adventure.
