Pilote has just launched four special edition motorhomes and they could be ideal for off-grid touring

Pilote has launched four Spring Edition motorhomes, special editions of four of its coachbuilts that include a bumped up spec list ideal for those looking to travel off-grid.

The four Pilote Spring Edition models consist of two 7.20m-long low-profiles, the island bed P720FC and fixed single bed P720FGJ, and their 7.25m-long A-class Galaxy equivalents. All are four-berths with four travel seats as standard.

The new special editions follow on from the brand’s earlier 2025 season launches, which include the new Pilote P720U Expression, a ‘van we picked out as the best motorhome for couples at the Practical Motorhome Awards 2025.

They all come with a black cab and an exclusive exterior look with new stickers. And while they are all based on a Fiat Ducato with a 140bhp engine and an automatic gearbox as standard, they come with the sportier back panel that Pilote has introduced on its Ford-based Atlas models.

All come with an MTPLM of 3500kg as standard, so if you are wondering what driving licence do I need to drive a motorhome, they can be driven on standard driving licence. As a cost option, the A-class models can be upgraded to 4400kg to provide more payload, but for that you would need a C1 licence.

The Spring Edition models also come with a 200Ah lithium battery, a 1500W sine wave inverter, a 40A booster for faster charging, and two 100W high efficiency monocrystalline solar panels.

To reduce gas consumption, the vehicles are heated by a Truma Combi D6 diesel heater, and include a compressor fridge.

Other extras include a reversing camera, automatic headlights, a Pioneer DAB radio with a 7in screen, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto compatibility that’s connected to speakers in the cab and in the living area, a hot and cold shower in the garage, a frost-proof waste water tank, a skirting locker, and a Nespresso Ezzenza mini noire by Krups coffee machine

The new models also come with a roll-out awning with integrated LED – black for the low-profiles and white for the A-classes.

Pilote claims that, with all these extras included, the £82,200 OTR price of the low-profiles represents a cost saving of £6980, while the £90700 OTR price of the A-classes is a cost saving of £7120.

Other cost options include a combined oven and grill, a cooker hood with integrated LED, and – on the island bed models only – a bed that can be raised and lowered electrically.

The vehicles will be on display on Pilote dealer stands at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show next month, and on dealer forecourts from March.
