An overnight stay at the pleasant Gunvenna Holiday Park
Gunvenna Holiday park is situated South West of Port Issac in Cornwall. We were looking for somewhere to stay for the night on our motorhome holiday road trip and this was it!
About the Site
The site consists of a mixture of static and touring caravans, clamping pods and touring site. We arrived early evening without a booking in the drizzle of rain. We were warmly greeted having rang the bell opposite reception which was closed. We were greeted by a friendly guy who was happy to accommodate our two motorhomes and despite clearly directions regarding where to go, ended up in the static section of the site. Whoops! A bit of reversing later and we were back on track to find our pitch.
Pitches
The pitches were hardstanding and a good size with plenty of space between the motorhomes. Each pitch had access to water, electric hook up and grey waste. There were also wooden table and benches to sit at alongside the pitch, which I made use of the following morning to drink my tea and browse the internet on my tablet (check out my review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A).
Facilities
The toilet and showering facilities were really nice, modern, fresh and clean with a nice touch of fresh flowers in vases alongside the sinks.
There was a large disabled shower wet room too, useful for those with accessibility needs.
A dog wash, a washing up area and chemical waste disposal area completed the fundamental facilities on site.
In addition there was a small shop in the reception and apparently a swimming pool although this was closed when we stayed.
Price
The cost for the super pitch, including 2 people and the ever essential electric hook up, fresh water and grey waste on the pitch was £21.50 which we thought was reasonable value for money.
Motorhome Monkey thoughts
This site provides reasonable value for money. The staff were helpful and friendly. The toilet facilities were really good. I would consider returning here if I was in the area again.
