Adria launches campervans for 2024

Adria is extending its campervan possibilities with three new models based on a MAN chassis, and will finally be launching its new Renault-based campervan at this year’s Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC in October.

The Slovenian manufacturer is also introducing a new model in its Mercedes-based Supersonic A-class motorhome range. There is also one new layout in each of the Mercedes-based low-profile motorhome ranges, the Matrix and Coral.

And the motorhome manufacturer says it won’t be increasing prices on any continuing models, except in the Compact range.

The new MAN-based Twin Max range is available in two lengths – either 6m or 6.8m – and in three different layouts. The 680SGX includes a drop-down bed at the rear that narrows as it rises (with a mattress that can be folded in on either side) so that it can fit neatly between the overhead lockers.

The 680SLB, meanwhile, has longitudinal beds that fold up (both close to 2m in length thanks to the extra length the MAN body provides), while the shorter 600SPB has a foldable cross-bed.

All models are available with either a 140bhp or 177bhp 2.0-litre engine, and with either 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission.

All three are firmly two-berths, with no third bed as an option. Interior styling is also less automotive than with standard Twins, with woodgrain introduced on the kitchen units and locker doors.

Clever new touches include removable storage bags that fix to the inside of the barn doors, and a removable spice rack in the kitchen.

Prices have yet to be finalised, but should be around £13,000 more than equivalent Twin models.

The Active campervan has been available in Europe for some years now, but has taken longer to come to the UK because it is only available in right hand drive as a Duo model with two sliding doors. The Renault Trafic-based van briefly appeared at Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show in February before being withdrawn for upgrading.

It now comes with a foldaway table that fits neatly into its own slot behind the rear bench, and a drawer in that bench that is large enough to take a Porta Potti. The bench, which turns into a rock’n’roll bed, can also be slid forwards to create a rear storage area that is large enough to take a standard bike. The pop-up roof has a mesh section that wraps around the front. Optional extras include a tailgate awning designed specifically for this model.

The new model in the Supersonic range is the 780DL, 7.8m long with fixed single beds in the rear and facing settees in the lounge. New optional extras introduced into the Supersonic range include a roof-mounted awning with dimmable LED lights, a waste water disposal camera, air suspension cab chairs and a ceramic toilet. Last year’s new introduction to the range proved impressive, with the 2023 Adria Supersonic 780DC a winner at the Practical Motorhome Awards 2023.

The new models in the low-profile Mercedes ranges are the Coral Supreme MB 670 SL, with single beds and an L-shaped dinette, and the Matrix Supreme 670 DL, with single beds and facing settees.

Because of problems with base vehicle supply, Adria has mothballed some of the models in its standard Fiat-based Twin range so that for 2024 the only models available will be the 640 SGX – the current best seller in the range – the 640 SLB and the 600 SPB GB, with the door on the “right” side for UK drivers. All will be in Supreme spec.

The same models will also be the only ones to feature in the Twin Sports range with a pop-up roof, although there the 600 SPB model will have a Continental door. For 2024 Twin Sports models also get an external shower.

For 2024 Compact models will also only be available in Supreme spec. They are going up roughly 1% in price because new features are being added to bring them more into line with other Adria models. These include a new control panel, and LED lighting throughout.

Adria isn’t the only manufacturer releasing information about its 2024 launches, with Pilote adding a new layout to its low-profile Atlas range, while Rapido is offering a new take on the transverse bed layout. Knaus and Weinsberg are also adding pop-top roofs to ‘vans for 2024 as well.
