The new Bailey Adamo XL range make their NEC Show debut

Brand new XL versions of Bailey’s Adamo range were on view for the first time at the Bristol-based manufacturer’s stand at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show.

The XL-I with island bed, XL-T with twin beds and the XL-DL with dual lounge were all proving popular with visitors to Birmingham’s NEC who were keen to have a thorough look over these spacious motorhomes.

The heavier (4250kg) chassis and longer (8m) specification means they have than doubled the payload when compared with their sister range Adamos. The XL-DL, for example, has a payload of 866kg. If you’re wondering what motorhome driving licence you would need for it, it means drivers will require a C1 licence but users will benefit from a larger amount of living space and the ability to carry more weight – great, for example, when on an extended trip around Europe or beyond.

Running through the range: the four berth XL-I has an island bed at the back, four travel seats, and a drop-down bed at the front. The XL-T  has the same layout as the XL-I, but is a motorhome with fixed single beds at the back. Finally, the XL-DL is a longer and heavier version of the best-selling 75-4DL, with a unique layout comprising a front lounge, rear lounge and drop-down beds at both front and back.

All the vehicles are built on a Ford Transit with a 2.0L 165bhp engine and 8-speed automatic gearbox, and come with a 200-watt solar panel, a Truma 6 heating system, and a grill, oven, three-gas hob and electric hot ring. The first units will be available at retailers from March/April 2025.

Bailey is not the only manufacturer to have updated models on display at the NEC this week, with Auto-Sleepers exhibiting its updated Mercedes-based models. These include the optional extra of the innovative Cinderella incineration toilet.
