To identify the top motorhome parks across the country, our readers have scoured the UK, from Cornwall, Devon and Dorset to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our expert team then judge the results and we compile the final 100.

The standout motorhome sites always offer excellent facilities and a great location – these are two things that the campsite, which is part of the Morris Leisure group, certainly provides.

From the park, guests will find themselves ideally placed for exploring Wales, Herefordshire and Shropshire. A wide range of amenities can be made use of as well, including a shop, a family and baby-changing room, a laundry, luxury toilets and showers, and disabled facilities. There’s even the option of staying in an adults-only section if you want to use your motorhome for a more peaceful getaway.

Thanks to the site’s location, there are plenty of attractions to explore in the surrounding area too. Guests can visit nearby Ludlow, with the option of catching the bus that stops at the site’s gates, or walking in. Other destinations include Ludlow Castle, Caer Caradoc, Carding Mill Valley, Ironbridge Gorge Museums and Severn Valley Railway.

Eye Kettleby Lakes is a truly picturesque motorhome park that is set in 150 acres of stunning countryside.

Sitting on the edge of Melton Mowbray, it’s a campsite that offers a tranquil setting for guests.

Pitches are split across two sections – in the northern site, there are luxury cabin-style amenity blocks, complete with individual bathrooms. Then there is the southern site, which is set near a 4.5-acre specimen carp lake, where private bathrooms can be found inside stone buildings. Glamping pods and log cabins are also available for guests.

Other facilities include a laundrette and a warm-water dog-shower, while a bar and shop are both onsite. Don’t miss The Clubhouse either, the campsite’s bar and tearoom that even provides a pet-friendly lounge, ideal if you want to make sure your four-legged touring friend doesn’t miss out on the fun.

The size of the motorhome park means there are plenty of walks to enjoy, and there is the option of hiring bikes too. Local destinations to visit include Melton Mowbray, Leicester and Nottingham.

Fishing fans will be well catered for, with a total of nine coarse lakes – this includes two specimen carp lakes, six mixed coarse lakes and a private lake that is only for lodge members.

Back of Beyond Touring Park is a campsite that offers a tranquil setting for guests who want to get away from it all. That’s not all though – it’s also an ideally situated destination for exploring Dorset’s many attractions, something that the best motorhome sites always provide.

It’s actually the 4th year in a row that the park, which is set in 30 acres of stunning countryside, has been our Regional Winner for Dorset. It has two lakes, and the area around both are Sites of Special Scientific Interest, due to the rare species that reside there. Wildlife and flowers are encouraged to prosper throughout too.

Facilities at the campsite are excellent, with four heated toilet and shower blocks (that offer power showers), a dog-wash and a shop. Food vendors also stop by, while guests have the option of hiring barbecues and fire pits from reception.

The site has also made changes for the 2023 touring season, with an access bridge finished that connects to the Castleman Trailway. In addition, wood-burning stoves are being added to Monty’s Bar, and new hedging installed between pitches, to provide enhanced privacy.

There are numerous destinations to visit nearby as well, including Bournemouth, Southampton, Stonehenge and Winchester.

This motorhome site sits in 20 acres of peaceful parkland and provides a picturesque and peaceful setting for ‘van owners.

From the park gates, two buses can be caught that head to Swanage, Poole and along the Jurassic Coast to Weymouth. Then there’s Bournemouth, which is only nine miles away.

Good amenities are to hand, with a shop that is stocked with local produce, a dog-wash, a 2.5-acre dog-walking field, and a bakery that serves pastries and bread.

A village pub is only 10 minutes from the site, while during the high season, outside caterers visit.

Our Regional Winner for Northern Ireland is a picturesque motorhome site that is located in County Antrim and is perfectly situated for exploring the North Coast.

Guests can head to Bushmills, a nearby village with pubs, restaurants and shops, as well as Old Bushmills Distillery. Other destinations in the vicinity include Runkerry and Bushfoot, two popular beaches that are both only a short drive away.

Exploring the surrounding area is simple, thanks to the Causeway Rambler bus. Operating between April and September, it picks guests up from the site, and stops at Giant’s Causeway, the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Portrush and Coleraine.

Every one of the campsites’s 50 pitches are hardstanding and fully serviced, with mature trees and well maintained grounds surrounding them.

The site’s facilities can be found in a cottage-style building, with wet-room showers, a family room with baths and showers, a dishwashing area and a laundry on offer.

Canine companions can be exercised in the dedicated dog-walk, while the site also boasts three wildlife ponds. Then there’s a playground, a football pitch, and an indoor games and TV room, ideal for keeping children entertained.

This stunning site is set neat the banks of Chew Valley Lake and is the Regional Winner for Somerset, Avon and Wiltshire in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2023.

The adults-only motorhome site provides visitors with a tranquil setting and is nicely laid out, emulating manicured gardens. Grass separates the gravel pitches, and there are also fully serviced pitches on offer. Each one comes with electric hook-up, with shrubbery and trees surrounding them.

Recently revamped luxury heated washrooms are provided, as are solo bathrooms – other amenities include laundry facilities, a lending library, a motorhome service point, disabled facilities and a tourist information area.

Guests have the option of fishing in the Chew Valley Lake, which sits a mere 800 yards away. Other areas to explore are the Chew Valley Trail, the Mendip Hills and Somerset’s walking trails.

Fancy a city day trip instead? Bath, Bristol and Wells are within easy reach of the motorhome site.

Monkton Wyld Holiday Park

Set in 25 acres of beautifully maintained grounds in Dorset AONB, this charming park is well placed for exploring the county, with Lyme Regis and Charmouth three miles away.

The site has award-winning washroom facilities, and also holds a Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award. Food vans visit weekly, and the park also provides two dog-walks, with fairy lights illuminating the woodland path for evening strolls. For the 2023 season, it has also upgraded its free Wi-Fi.

Our Regional Winner for North-West England is perfectly placed for taking in the delights of the area, with the Lake District, the North Pennines and Northumberland National Park all less than an hour’s drive away.

The adult’s only site provides visitors with a peaceful touring experience. Manicured hedges surround the site, with standard, fully serviced and premium pitches all available. The latter comes with additional space, a private picnic bench and the facilities of a fully serviced pitch.

Underfloor heating and rainfall shower heads are provided in the award-winning toilets and showers, which also have hairdryers and spacious changing areas. Other features include purpose-built disabled facilities and non-slip flooring.

For four-legged friends, the scenic dog-walk follows a woodland path, and there’s also a dog-exercise area. As well as this, the park offers indoor laundry and dishwashing, and an onsite tourist information centre.

History buffs will enjoy exploring nearby sites such as Hadrian’s Wall and Carlisle Castle, while lovers of the great outdoors have access to Solway Coast AONB and Kielder Water & Forest Park, among others.

Our Regional Winner for Wales sits in the sprawling coastal countryside of the Isle of Anglesey, and is an extensive and wonderfully equipped touring site.

Providing guests with stunning views of Lligwy Bay and close proximity to several seaside gems, the park is perfect for families, couples and solo travellers.

Pitch options include standard and premium fully serviced, with all pitches dispersed across five fields of well-maintained greenery and surrounded by hedges and woodland. The washroom facilities recently won the Platinum Loo of the Year award and every touring pitch is within 200m of a toilet and shower block.

At The Market Place, you can pick up food, camping equipment and beach essentials, along with baked goods and local produce, while delicious meals can be bought from the Hen Ysgubor takeaway. Coming soon to the site is a new café/bar that will be serving beverages and snacks throughout the day.

The park is perfectly placed for exploring the east coast of Anglesey, with its own path to Lligwy Beach. Walking and cycling trails are easily picked up from the site, while historical attractions like Mynydd Parys and the Copper Kingdom Centre are a short drive away.

Set in 12.5 acres of parkland, Stanmore Hall Touring Park is an ideal destination for exploring south Shropshire. The peace is matched by the picturesque surroundings, including woods and a lake, where lots of wildlife resides.

The site amenities include a dog-walk, showers and toilets, disabled facilities, a play area for children and a shop. Guests can also opt to stay in the site’s adults-only section for even more quiet tranquility. Birmingham is about an hour away; other attractions include the Severn Valley Railway and the West Midland Safari Park.
