Road Trip

A great stay at Redpost Inn & Touring Park

Our motorhome road trip to Cornwall led us to the Redpost Inn & Touring Park. The site is located in Red Post, between the small seaside town of Bude, North Cornwall and the small market town and parish of Holsworthy in Devon on the A3072 where it meets the B3254.

About the Site

The site is a family run site, with a mixture of static and touring caravans with hard standing pitches. On arrival we parked on the large gravel area at the entrance. Signs were clearly displayed directing us to the cottage if the reception was closed. We rang the bell and were greeted by a friendly guy who was happy to accommodate our two motorhomes.

Pitches

The pitches were a reasonable size with access to water and electric hook up on the pitch. A really nice touch was there was an area of wood decking on most of the touring pitches. This meant park your habitation door next to it and you were able to step out onto a ready made platform, ideal for your table and chairs.

Facilities

The toilet and showering facilities were clean and functional with hot water aplenty.

The chemical disposal point was rudimentary but functional and there was a grey wast disposal point for motorhomes which was handy.

For those with kids, there was a designated play area which I’m sure would keep them occupied for a while.

There is also a bar that’s open from 5.30pm – 11pm with an inside and outside seating area. They also serve food and provide a take away option, however this is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Wouldn’t you know it we turned up on a Monday!

Price

The cost for the pitch, including 2 people and the ever essential electric hook up was £16 which we thought was really good value for money.

Motorhome Monkey thoughts

This well laid out site provides good value for money. The staff were helpful and friendly. The fact that they have a bar and serve food for those wanting to socialise or just to use as an alternative place to relax is a bonus. I would definitely consider returning here if I was in the area again, although my propensity to sampling the local alcohol means it would probably be on a day when the bar is open!
