Kings Orchard Marina Campsite
This weeks trip took us to Kings Orchard Marina Campsite in Staffordshire and a day spent visiting the National Arboretum.
About the Site
Kings Orchard Marina is located in the middle of the Staffordshire countryside close to Lichfield. A marina for barges and boats accessing the Coventry canal it also has a campsite for caravans, motorhomes and tents.
The site is easily accessible from the M6 motorway and via the A38.
We arrived, parked up and headed to reception where we were greeted by a friendly member of staff. After a few minutes of processing our payment and an explanation of the site we were on our way to our pitch. We were allocated pitches 2 & 3 from a total of 10 pitches. There are a further 5 pitches specifically reserved as a Certified Location (CL) of the Caravan and Motorhome Club. These are grassed pitches though, so even though we are members we opted for the general hardstanding pitches.

Pitches
The pitches were hardstanding with a neat little hedge separating the pitches and offering a degree of privacy and providing a boundary from your neighbours pitch. Each pitch had its own electric hook up and water tap which was a useful provision for those that needed it. The pitches were sufficiently spaced and the hookup electricity bollard was easily accessible and well maintained. Opposite the pitches on a grass bank with small apple trees were picnic tables for general use.

Facilities
There were toilet and shower facilities in two locations on the site. The single shower and toilet were for one person, with one for male and one for female campers. Access was from an external door with a key. This may suit those who value their privacy.
There was a chemical disposal point for black (toilet) waste. Grey waste was disposed of around the hedging of the pitch as requested by the site reception staff.

A pleasant site in a great location for visiting the national arboretum
