Old Oaks named Overall Winner as the results of the Top 100 Sites Guide 2026 are revealed
Somerset-based Old Oaks has taken the top spot in our annual Top 100 Sites Guide for the second year in a row.
The results of our Top 100 Sites Guide 2026 have been announced, with Old Oaks in Somerset retaining the Overall Winner’s crown it won last year.
Our annual guide sees the readers of Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome vote for what they believe are the best motorhome sites in the UK, campsites which are setting the standard for excellent facilities, helpful staff, a great location, and more.
Those who have read our Top 100 Sites Guides in previous years will be familiar with this year’s Overall Winner, as Old Oaks is a regular contender and also took top spot last year. Old Oaks sits only a short drive from Glastonbury, providing visitors with a tranquil environment for exploring the likes of the Mendip Hills and Glastonbury Tor.

Being named Overall Winner is just one of the accolades Old Oaks achieved in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2026, as it was also named the standout motorhome site, the Best Site for Washrooms, and our Regional Winner for the Somerset, Avon & Wiltshire region.
Guests who are looking for the best motorhome sites in Cornwall to pitch up at could be interested to hear Silver Sands Holiday Park has been named the area’s Regional Winner for a fifth consecutive year. The site is found in the Lizard Peninsula in a tranquil countryside setting, allowing visitors to enjoy trips to destinations such as Penzance and St Ives.
Ballyness Caravan Park was the Regional Winner for Northern Ireland, with the campsite well-placed for exploring attractions such as Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and the Giant’s Causeway, while offering guests immaculate hardstanding pitches and excellent facilities.

When it came to our Regional Winner in Scotland, the title went to Linwater Caravan Park. The site offers easy access to Edinburgh and has both exceptional facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. Linwater also received the Best Green Site title.
Red Kite Touring Park was our Regional Winner for Wales in our 2026 Guide, with the adults-only motorhome site providing spacious pitches and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The market town of Llanidloes is only a 15-minute stroll away, too.

The Regional Winner’s title in North-East England went to Hillside Caravan Park, a nine-acre site which sits in a relaxed countryside setting in North Yorkshire.

North-West England saw Green Acres named the Regional Winner, a notable achievement as it’s the fourth year it has held the title. The adults-only site sits in a beautiful countryside setting and makes a great base for trips to the Lake District and Carlisle.
Eastern England saw The Old Brick Kilns voted the Regional Winner. The 13-acre site provides guests with an ideal setting for taking in the beauty of North Norfolk, as well as exploring the Norfolk Broads.
Retaining its crown in Dorset was South Lytchett Manor, a site which sits in 20 acres of peaceful parkland and provides a relaxed setting for exploring attractions such as Poole and the breathtaking Jurassic Coast.

Whitefield Forest Touring Park took the Regional Winner’s title in South-East England for the fourth consecutive year. Sitting on the eastern coastline of the Isle of Wight, the campsite offers a relaxing setting for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
When it comes to the Heart of England, Ludlow Touring Park retained its Regional Winner’s crown for 2026, with the Morris Leisure-owned campsite offering a tranquil setting for taking in the delights of Shropshire.
Devon saw Yeatheridge Farm Caravan & Camping Park voted the Regional Winner. Sitting in central Devon, Yeatheridge also received the Best Site for Families title and has a range of facilities for all ages to enjoy, as well as being well situated for trips to Exeter and Castle Drogo.

Smytham Holiday Park was named the Best Site for Cycling, with the Devon-based site providing direct access to the Tarka Trail and offering a base for exploring the South West Coast Path.
The Best Pet-Friendly Site was also in Devon, with Oakdown Touring & Holiday Caravan Park providing a warm welcome for four-legged members of the touring party. This includes Clean Paws dog spa, which is free-to-use and comes with a dog bath, hot water shower and a hair dryer.
For fans of motorhoming in winter, the Best Site Open All Year title went to Ord House Country Park. Found in North-East England in Berwick-upon-Tweed, the site has modern facilities and sits in a picturesque parkland setting.
Longbeech Campsite was named the Best Adults Only Site, with the peaceful site found near Fritham in the New Forest and offering a setting where guests can unwind while surrounded by nature.
Hampshire Hills, formerly known as Two Hoots, was the Best Small Site. With 15 pitches, the campsite provides a quiet getaway, allowing visitors to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the South Downs.
For those who want to head overseas instead, the Caravan and Motorhome Club and Alan Rogers recently announced the winners of the Overseas Campsites Awards 2025, with Les Castels in France the Overall Winner.
In other campsite news, Derbyshire County Council is looking for new tenants to rent a campsite that sits within the wider 321-acre Elvaston Castle estate. The 4.02-acre site has sat dormant for 14 years.
