Scottish converter CampervanCo collapses
CampervanCo, a Scottish company which specialised in making fully electric campervans and had only recently brought out its latest model costing less than £20,000, has gone into administration.
Only recently, the company launched a hybrid budget campervan based on a used Toyota Proace hybrid that it said could potentially cost less than £20,000 (pictured above).
However, James Dewar and Alistair McAlinden from Interpath were appointed joint provisional liquidators at Campers Scotland, trading as CamperVanCo, on Christmas Eve last year.
The company had ceased trading just before the liquidation, and all 27 members of staff have been made redundant.
The liquidators say there is no prospect of a sale of all or even part of the business, which was based in Denny but also had offices in Ealing, west London.
Any customers or suppliers affected should email campersscotland@interpath.com for any more information.
The collapse of the company could be something of a setback for those seeking fully electric or hybrid campervans. Online forums have already formed for people who may have been left out of pocket.
At the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show in February 2023, the company also launched what it claimed was the world’s all-electric zero emissions campervan. The Eco Revolution was also based on a ProAce.
