Laika moves its Kreos range onto a Mercedes Sprinter for 2027

Laika is moving its top-notch Kreos range entirely onto a Mercedes-Benz base vehicle, and dividing its Ecovip campervan range up into two different sub-brands, each with a variety of finishes.

The first model in the new-look Kreos range is the H 5109 MB. Built on a Mercedes Sprinter with an Al-Ko chassis, the A-class motorhome comes with a 170hp engine and 9G-Tronic automatic transmission as standard.

You also get a choice of three exterior automotive-inspired design styles. There’s Grand Prix Design (decals that are mainly carbon, but with a line of light aqua gloss), Rosegold Design (the same, but with rose gold gloss) and Black Carbon (a matt black line this time).

Inside, the fixed single beds motorhome has a kitchen with a three-burner hob and a 153-litre AES fridge, a washroom with a rain shower and a second adjustable shower head, and a drop-down double bed over the front dinette. There’s natural walnut wood furniture, and eco-leather upholstery available in either Deep Ocean or Icy Grey styles.

The Fiat-based Ecovip campervan range, meanwhile, is available in one of two sub-ranges –  Ecovip Evoluzione or Ecovip Performance.

With automotive design inspiration similar to the Kreos, the two Evoluzione models – the 540 at 5.41m long and the 600 at 5.99m – both come with automatic transmission, 18-inch black campervan alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control and a Pioneer music system with a rear view camera, all as standard.

Unusually the 540 still manages to include a washroom with a swinging partition.

Both vans have 6kW Truma diesel heating and insulated waste water tanks. The 600 also has a 138-litre compressor fridge and an optional oven.

The two models are also available in four different colour schemes: Arancio Assen (Baltic Orange with silver and black graphics on the outside with interior upholstery either black or white with red stitching); Azzurro Le Mans (blue outside with black, orange and blue graphics with upholstery that is either orange with black stitching or white with red stitching); Verde Mugello (British Green on the outside with bronze and silver details and upholstery that is either cognac and green or white and red stitching); and Grigio Nardo (Expedition Grey with red and black details on the outside and either black or white upholstery with red stitching).

The Ecovip Performance range, meanwhile, consists of three models – 540, 600, and 645. All run on a Fiat Ducato with a 16obhp engine with automatic transmission as standard.

Standard equipment includes Truma Combi diesel heating, a 150Ah lithium battery, a rear view camera and a 9-inch Pioneer infotainment system

Like Evoluzione, Performance is available in four colour schemes. Grigio Torino (Artense Grey on the outside with carbon and blue accents) and Azzurro Portofino (blue with carbon accents on the outside and 18-inch bronze alloy wheels) both have upholstery that is either black with teal green stitching or all white.

Meanwhile Bianco Cortina (white on the outside with red and green accent to match the Italian flag, as well as 18-inch gold alloy wheels) and Grigio Napoli (iron grey with red accents on the outside) have a choice of either black upholstery with red stitching or all white upholstery.

The Italian company, part of the Erwin Hymer Group, has also redesigned its website to include a configurator.

Another brand to have recently announced its new season plans is Niesmann+Bischoff, with the manufacturer announcing significant upgrades to its iSmove A-class motorhomes for the 2027 season.
