I’ve found the games and gadgets in the Prime Day sale that will keep you entertained on tour, with huge savings to be enjoyed.
While Amazon’s Prime Day sale is a great opportunity to stock up on touring essentials, it can also be a great time to buy those products that can take your tour to the next level.
With the summer holidays coming up and the main touring season well underway, I’ve picked out the games and gadgets that I think will help everyone to have an enjoyable time while they’re on tour. Whether you enjoy an evening in your ‘van watching a film, playing a board game, or listening to music, or like a portable game you can take out and about with you, I’ve found the Prime Day deals that will fit the bill – and they’re all available with excellent discounts too.

Travel chess set was £9.99 now £8.07 (save 19%)
I love chess, and while I enjoy a game online, you can’t beat playing with a physical board and pieces. I like the look of this chess set, and think it’s particularly useful that the chess pieces come with magnets embedded in the bottom, so if someone knocks the table, they shouldn’t go flying. At the end of the game, the pieces can all be stored within the chessboard itself, which folds up to create a storage box, giving you convenient storage. The board is 25 x 25 x 2cm when in use and 25 x 12.5 x 4cm when folded.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite was £169.99 now £134.99 (save 21%)
There’s a lot to like about a Kindle. It’s lightweight, has weeks of battery life and allows you to take as many books on tour with you as you could want, all in a small and portable gadget. It also means I’m off my phone, which, for a serial scroller like myself, can only be a good thing! The Paperwhite is 7″ and has a 25% faster page turn, while an impressive battery life will see if last for up to 12 weeks. Its glare-free screen should ensure you have no problems reading it, too.
Echo Dot (Newest gen) was £54.99 now £28.49 (save 48%)
I decided I wanted a speaker last year and took the plunge with an Echo Dot – and I’ve not been disappointed. You can connect it to your phone via Bluetooth to listen to music, or alternatively, connect it to Wi-Fi to listen to Audible, Spotify and Apple Music, get weather updates from Alexa, or more. It’s also incredibly small and lightweight, two big pluses in any ‘van, and comes in handy for setting a timer too.
Articulate was £32.99 now £15.90 (save 52%)
This fun game gives you 30 seconds to describe what’s on the card, without actually saying it. From personal experience, I can vouch that it’s harder than it sounds… it is, however, great fun for families or friends to enjoy, and is currently available with a huge 52% saving.
NEBULA Capsule 3 was £369 now £299 (save 19%)
This projector caught my eye in the sale. I like how it should provide an incredibly portable and versatile way of watching your favourite streaming services when you’re on tour. Unlike a touring TV, you can set it up to get the screen size that suits you, as it can project to up to 120 inches, and has a 1080p display with 200 ANSI Lumens to give you good picture quality. Its auto keystone correction and autofocus will quickly adjust the screen to an appropriate size when you’ve moved it, and a full charge would let you watch a 2.5-hour film. What I particularly like is that you could move it around your ‘van or even into your awning if you so desired, allowing you to create a true cinematic experience on the go.
UNO was £5.42 now £4.61 (save 15%)
I love playing UNO with my friends. It’s fast-paced, great fun for people of all ages, and would be ideal for any evenings in your ‘van or for slipping into the backpack for a quick game while in a pub. A 15% saving brings it down to only £4.61 during the Prime Day sale.
Anker Soundcore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker was £39.99 now £22.99 (save 43%)
I quite like the look of this Anker speaker, which offers an impressive battery life of up to 24 hours, thanks to a 5,200mAh Li-ion battery. It should also be able to stand up to the elements, thanks to its IPX7 rating, and its BassUp technology should ensure you get an excellent audio experience. While it’s available in a choice of colours, the black version is currently only £22.99, a huge 43% saving.
CATAN 6th Edition was £49.99 now £32.89 (save 34%)
This game has been highly recommended to me as a must-play and is a deal I’m strongly contemplating today. Ideal for fans of game nights on tour, this game of strategy has you compete with the other players to manage your resources and grow your settlement as you settle the island of Catan. Build, trade, gather resources, and prepare for an evening of fun.
