CAMC to hold Big Little Reading Festival at Holkham Hall pop-up site this August

The Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) has announced it will be holding the Big Little Reading Festival on 17th August for those staying at the Holkham Hall pop-up site.

The family-friendly Big Little Reading Festival should provide something for everyone, with activity packs, face painting and book readings by authors all on offer.

The event, which is free for those pitched up at the Holkham Hall pop-up campsite, will also have a book quiz hosted by Mel and Ryan Philpott (also known as ‘The Overnighters” on social media), with the prize of free tickets to watch Dickens Theatre Company’s A Christmas Carol at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange this November (or a local theatre) up for grabs.

Then, in the evening, guests can sit back with food and drink while enjoying the family-friendly ‘Charles Dickens and the Stink of Murder’, performed by the Dickens Theatre Company.

Book lovers will also get to enjoy a talk about the CAMC campsites – with a classic literary twist. Hosted by Mel and Ryan, the talk will take you through Devon, Cornwall, the Gower Peninsula and more, talking you through the classics that link to the area.

Big Little Reading Festival is a part of the ‘Read, Tour, Explore’ initiative the Club launched earlier this year. As a further part of this, the CAMC has announced a partnership with the leading national charity The Reading Agency, with the goal of encouraging its members to read more. To do this, the CAMC has launched the Read Tour Explore: Road to Reading portal, where members will be able to receive tips, advice and book recommendations inspired by CAMC campsite locations.

Brian Morgan, Head of Communications and Event at the Caravan and Motorhome Club said, “The Big Little Reading Festival will be a great event, suitable for all ages, with lots to entertain and inform. The Holkham Hall pop-up campsite, open from 16 August to 13 September, will be ideal for all the family and offers a unique base to explore the great outdoors. Club pop-ups offer a wonderfully relaxing environment with plenty to see and do.”
