The Quantum F-4F and the F-4S are both Fiat-based motorhomes and is the first time Buccaneer has released motorhomes since it was acquired in 1998.

Buccaneer’s first venture into the world of motorhomes since it became part of what is now Erwin Hymer UK is on display on its own stand at the Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC this week.

The NEC Show is a great chance for visitors on the hunt for the best motorhomes to browse the latest releases from the leading manufacturers. Buccaneer has been producing luxury caravans for Erwin Hymer UK since it was acquired by Elddis’s then owner in 1998. But the new Fiat-based Quantum range is the first time it has started producing motorhomes since then.

The two models in the low–profile range are both 7.37m-long four-berths. They both run on a 140bhp engine (with 180bhp available as a £5000 upgrade) with an auto gearbox as standard. As standard, you also get cruise control, a rearview camera and an infotainment system with a 9in touchscreen, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto compatibility and a rear view camera.

However, when it comes to the motorhome driving licence you will need, both models have an MTPLM of 3650kg, so a C1 licence is required to drive them. Both cost £96,195 OTR.

The F-4F has a French bed at the rear with a corner rear washroom, while the F-4S has fixed single beds with a washroom spread across the back. All beds are at least 6ft 6in long.

Both models come with Alde heating, while the kitchen includes a dual fuel four burner hob, a separate oven and grill and a Dometic Series 10 fridge.

Another maker to be sharing new models at the NEC is Rimor. The manufacturer showcased two models from its Sailer range, including the Sailer 56 Plus, which features one of the biggest kitchens we’ve ever seen in a low-profile motorhome.

A new compact low-profile was also on display on the Mobilvetta stand, with the Kea Kompact standing out with its daring upholstery.
