14-foot Burmese python discovered at Monkton Wyld Holiday Park
Visitors to Monkton Wyld Holiday Park were greeted by an unusual sight recently when a 14-foot Burmese python was spotted in the grass.
The best motorhome sites offer excellent facilities and beautiful surroundings, with the 25 acres of well-maintained grounds at Monkton Wyld Holiday Park allowing guests to enjoy a peaceful and picturesque setting.
It was in these grounds that Bella, as the snake was nicknamed by staff, was discovered by two guests. They initially mistook Bella for a branch, with a subsequent four-hour operation conducted by professionals from a nearby reptile rescue centre to safely capture the snake.
It is believed that Bella had been abandoned by its previous owner but the snake is now receiving proper care and settling in her new home.
Monkton Wyld Holiday Park has received a David Bellamy Conservation Award and was among the best motorhome sites in Dorset in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2023. As well as having award-winning washroom facilities, it is perfectly placed for exploring Lyme Regis and Charmouth, both of which are only three miles away.
