Caravan and Motorhome Club upgrades its insurance
The Caravan and Motorhome Club has upgraded the Red Pennant travel insurance it offers member and non-members with a slew of new benefits.
Red Pennant, the travel insurance offered by the Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) has been upgraded for both UK-only and European touring.
The travel insurance upgrade has come just as many ‘van owners will be thinking of setting off on their first tours of the season, whether it’s to one of the best UK motorhome sites or are planning on touring Europe in a campervan.
The new scheme, developed in partnership with insurance provider P J Hayman, includes automatic cover for a wide range of pre-existing medical conditions.
You also get £2,500 for trip cancellation, including where a vehicle-related incident prevents travel, up to £2,500 if a trip has to be cut short, and up to £5 million to cover emergency medical expenses.
Policyholders, who do not have to be CAMC members, also have access to a 24-hour GP service throughout the policy period, and help in getting their vehicle repatriated where a medical emergency prevents onward travel.
There are additional options for more complex requirements, including longer trips, worldwide travel, adventure activities, high cost holidays and travellers aged 80 and over.
Julie Constable, the club’s head of insurance and financial services, said: “We know how important it is for our members to have confidence in their travel arrangements, particularly when touring the UK or overseas. Our new Red Pennant Travel Insurance makes it easy for members to choose cover that reflects how they travel and provides the reassurance they value when exploring new destinations.”

The CAMC also recently announced the winners of its Overseas Campsites Awards 2025, with Les Castels in France taking the title of Overall Winner, while it has added Park Cliffe in the Lake District to its network too.
